General project goals
The project has a long-standing history and a rapidly growing archive of news content. We had already redesigned the site in 2021, but as the platform and audience expanded, it became clear that the technical foundation required a full-scale modernization. A strategic decision was made to completely rebuild the site’s architecture to ensure stability, scalability, and alignment with current standards.

Significant reduction in site size
One of the main goals was to reduce server load and improve page speed. The bulk of the site’s volume came from tens of thousands of images accumulated over the years.
We developed scripts to automatically optimize all images during migration, and implemented a system that compresses each image upon upload. As a result, the total site size was reduced by a factor of 10, ensuring better control over future growth.

Efficient and stable multilingual support
Previously, multilingual support caused significant server load, especially on content-heavy sites. We implemented an architecture where multilingual functionality no longer affects site speed or stability, even under high traffic.
This solution made localization seamless and performance-friendly, improving the experience for both readers and editors.
Online donation form with direct bank integration
As an independent media outlet, the project relies on ongoing financial support. We built a full-featured donation module from scratch, without using third-party services or ready-made plugins.
The form is directly integrated with the bank’s API, meets modern security standards, and allows users to support the project easily and securely. All payments are reliably processed and recorded in the site’s admin panel.
Interactive gallery with fast upload and optimization
Photo reports are a key part of the project, but large volumes of images can quickly strain the server. We implemented an interactive gallery that allows users to upload large batches of photos directly from their computers. All images are automatically optimized for resolution and size, ensuring fast display — even on mobile devices.
Reading the next news article without page reload
To increase user engagement, we implemented functionality that allows readers to view the next article on the same page, without a full reload. This approach is both user-friendly and technically efficient — it reduces server load and is protected against automated abuse.

This project is a great example of how we help news and content platforms evolve. If your website needs more speed, stability, or flexibility — we know how to make it happen.
